SUTHERLAND SHARKS FC

Girls & womens

From 2027, Sutherland Sharks FC will operationally manage a full girls and women's football pathway across the club, from the Girls Junior Development League, Girls Youth League and Senior Representative Team.

The Girls & Women’s program will sit under the Sutherland Sharks FC umbrella, and form part of our representative pathway within the Sutherland Shire.

We've spent the past two years building incredible foundations, for this moment. An elite gym, bespoke change rooms for female & male players, video analysis room & much more. We’re investing in the best coaching talent, and working towards a clear plan for where this program goes over the next three years.

This page is your one-stop shop for everything on the Girls & Women's program: what we're building, how to get involved, and what the pathway looks like at every age group.

our vision for the girls & womens program

Four focus areas

To achieve our key objectives, the Sharks will focus on four main areas that shape every part of our football program. Each area sets the standards we need to reach and provides the framework for the initiatives and targets that follow.

1. Performance

We will pursue double promotion to NPL 1, for both our Senior and Youth programs, at the earliest opportunity available to each. This ambition will be underpinned by recruiting and developing the best talent with a clear focus on local talent, with player growth and enjoyment of the game remaining a central priority throughout.

2. Best Practice Programs

We will raise our programs to meet Football NSW’s highest standards, delivering consistent coaching, strong development frameworks, and a clear playing identity across every age group. We will continue to invest in our staff, facilities & technology to earn Gold Status for our Youth and JDL program.

3. Pathways & Education

From grassroots through to senior football, we will strengthen and clarify the pathway for every player. With better progression, coach development, and structured support, our aim is to prepare more players for senior football and beyond.

4. Community

The Sharks are part of a much bigger football ecosystem. We will work hand in hand with the SSFA and local clubs to share knowledge, align pathways, and ensure that our success lifts the whole Shire community.

Facilities

Purpose-built change room

We have invested in state of the art change rooms for all our teams. Our Junior Development Teams have access to new change rooms on the Northern side of the stadium, while our Youth & Seniors share the main change rooms under the grandstand. This facility is set up with showers, lockers & ice baths for recovery post training & games.

Best-in-class pitch & Lights

Installed in mid-2015 our synthetic surface the latest in eco-friendly synthetic turf technology, imported directly from Europe. We have invested in upgrading our lights to 300 LUX to ensure we can utilise our state of the art pitch all year round.

Technology

Below our Grandstand is a purpose-built video analysis room. Every team at the club gets access to this facility, where coaching staff run comprehensive video analysis sessions. Our deep commitment to coaching is matched by our investment in cutting-edge resources including Clubhouse, our Clubs bespoke software which streamlines video analysis, tactical breakdowns, player feedback, S&C and medical resources. This investment ensures our staff has the necessary tools to focus entirely on developing every player's potential.

State-of-the-art gym

Alongside a new playing surface, Seymour Shaw also has a new gym and Strength & Conditioning program. Players across Youth & Seniors will have access and dedicated programs for each individual, focusing on areas like ACL prehab, Cycle-orientated training & load management.
