Nicholas Olsen returns to Seymour Shaw for 2026

Nick Olsen returns to Seymour Shaw for the 2026 season, joining Sutherland Sharks off the back of a career-best year that saw him crowned the 2025 NPL NSW Player of the Year.

One of the most explosive attacking players in the competition, Olsen arrives as a major statement from incoming Head Coach David Perkovic and represents a key pillar in the Club’s plans to win the NPL Premiership within three years, as outlined in our Three-Year Plan.

Capable of operating as a winger, attacking midfielder or centre forward, Olsen brings a rare blend of pace, power and end product. His ability to break lines, score big goals and turn matches in moments makes him one of the most dangerous attackers in the league and an immediate focal point of our 2026 front line.

This return marks an important homecoming. Olsen previously spent time at the Club earlier in his career before establishing himself across the NPL & beyond, earning his reputation as a big-moment player with a ruthless edge in the final third. His progression, maturity and consistency over recent seasons now make him one of the most formidable attacking threats in the state.

Perkovic, entering his first season at the helm, emphasised the strategic importance of Olsen’s return.

“Nick is a match-winner. His ability to create something out of nothing changes how teams prepare for us and elevates the entire squad. We want to be front-foot, aggressive and dynamic this season, and Nicholas fits that identity perfectly.”

Olsen’s signing is part of a broader recruitment drive aimed at strengthening all key areas of the pitch and building a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the competition.

He said the decision to return to the Shire felt like the right step at the right time.

“Being announced as a Sutho player again feels great. There’s something really special about coming back to the club I started my career at. A lot has changed while I’ve been away, but the Club’s ambition is clear, the environment is strong, and Perko’s plans really appealed to me. I’m excited to be here and can’t wait to get started.”

With Olsen committing for 2026, the Sharks add proven firepower, game-breaking quality and a player with the mentality to influence the biggest moments of the season.

More signings to come.
