Harb And Sattout Fire Sharks To 2–0 Win In Canberra
Australian Championship | Round 2
Sutherland Sharks FC claimed their first win of the 2026 Australian Championship with a 2–0 victory over Canberra Croatia at Deakin Stadium on Saturday 24 Oct. Jyden Harb scored inside the opening minute and Lachlan Sattout converted a second-half penalty.

The Sharks struck almost from the kick-off. Pouncing on a loose Canberra pass, Harb drove into the box and finished superbly to make it 1–0 inside 60 seconds.
The early goal gave way to a tight, tactical first half, with few clear chances at either end. The Sharks went closest to a second just before the interval, when a dangerous ball flashed across the face of goal without a touch.

The Sharks began the second half on the front foot. Canberra responded with two promising chances around the hour mark and more of the ball in the final third, but the Sharks' defence held firm.
The decisive moment came in the 68th minute. Samuel Bošnjak was brought down by a strong challenge in the box, and Sattout stepped up to convert from the spot and double the lead.
Canberra pushed for a way back, but goalkeeper Samuel Smith was not called on until the 90th minute. He saved a curling effort to secure the clean sheet.
The result puts the Sharks' first three points on the board after the opening-round defeat to South Melbourne, ahead of their return to Seymour Shaw Stadium next Saturday.
