We Beat Gladesville In Style In The Australia Cup
Hahn Australia Cup | Knockout Round 4
We announced ourselves in the Hahn Australia Cup in emphatic fashion on Wednesday night, running out 6-0 winners over Gladesville Ryde Magic to advance to the next round of the preliminary stages.
From the opening minutes, it was clear we meant business. Tye McGowan got us off the mark in the 8th minute, and just 60 seconds later, Takumi Ofuka doubled the lead with one of the goals of the night — a delicate first-time volley that looped beautifully over the keeper. Two goals inside the opening ten minutes set the tone for a commanding evening.

Brendan Gan made it three on the 16th minute before we carried our composure into the second half. Jacob McLachlan added a fourth just before the break, and Nicholas Olsen put the result beyond any doubt on the hour. Julian Fedele rounded out the scoring in the 84th minute, capping off a night to remember in the Shire.

While Gladesville tested us on occasion, James Husoy was equal to everything they had to offer and kept a clean sheet on his first senior debut for the club. A composed and assured performance between the sticks.
It was also a special night for Gian Fiorese, who earned his first senior start for us and took the opportunity with both hands.

A big thank you to everyone who came out on a Wednesday night to back the boys. Your support does not go unnoticed, and nights like this are what the Shire is all about.
Next up, we go again against Rockdale Ilinden in a huge local derby. Come on you Sharks!
