Hollingdale, Maia and Macdonald Fire US HOME IN Commanding Win

Saturday night at Seymour Shaw was one to savour. We put in our best performance of the season, brushing aside Manly United 3-0 in a display full of intent, precision and quality.

We were on the front foot from the first whistle. Nicholas Olsen and Danny Choi caused problems early, with Olsen forcing a good save from Manly keeper Mackenzie Syron inside the opening ten minutes. The pressure was building, and it paid off when Ryley Hollingdale converted from a corner in the 18th minute to give us the lead we deserved.

Choi continued to be a menace down the flank throughout the first half, while Manly carved out a couple of half-chances late in the piece without really testing us. We went into the break in control and didn't let up after the restart.

Manly tried to find a way back into it, and Ayumu Kimura came closest with a driving run and powerful strike in the 68th minute, but Danijel Nizic was equal to it, making an incredible close-range save. With the visitors pushing for an opening, we made them pay.

Yianni Nicolaou was instrumental in the build-up as Tariq Maia calmly slotted home in the 75th minute to double our lead. Then, in the 84th minute, Richard Shoueiki burst forward and unselfishly squared for Lachlan Macdonald to finish the job.

Three goals, a clean sheet, three points. Our second shutout of the season and third win overall, and this squad is only getting started.

Come down and get behind us at our next home game.
