Alicia Ferguson Joins Sutherland Sharks FC as Women's First Grade Head Coach

We're thrilled to confirm the appointment of Alicia Ferguson as our new Women's First Grade Head Coach, bringing a genuinely world-class playing pedigree and a growing coaching career to our shared Girls & Women's Football program with SSFA.

A dual World Cup representative for the Matildas (1999 and 2007) and a 2000 Sydney Olympian, Alicia debuted for Australia at just 15 years old and went on to earn 66 caps and 6 goals over a decade in the green and gold, including a standout tournament as stand-in captain at the 2006 AFC Women's Asian Cup. At club level she was a four-time Women's National Soccer League champion with Queensland Sting, a W-League winner with Brisbane Roar in 2008/09, and played in England for Millwall Lionesses.

Alicia has already built a strong coaching resume, having led ParaMatildas as Head Coach before taking charge of Charlestown Azzurri's NPLW side this year, guiding through a tough start to a finals-contending finish in Northern NSW. She's also no stranger to the biggest stage in the women's game, having been part of Stan Sport's broadcast team for recent FIFA Women's World Cups.

In her new role, Alicia will lead our First Grade squad on the park, working alongside Tom Sermanni, Charlotte Young and the rest of the football department to build a genuine pathway across our women's program.
