Debbie Fisher Joins Sutherland Sharks FC as Girls Junior Development Technical Director

We're excited to confirm Debbie Fisher as our new Girls Junior Development League Technical Director, bringing over two decades of experience in girls' and women's football development to our shared Girls & Women's Football program with SSFA.

Debbie joined Football Australia in 2017 and last served as Pathways and Talent Development Manager, leading the rollout of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme nationally, a program that's helped identify 6,000 players and upskill over 1,000 coaches across the country. Before that she spent three years as Girls Youth Development Manager and U17 Women's Team Manager, managing the Junior Matildas to a Championship win at the ASEAN Football Federation U18 Women's Championship in Indonesia and serving as Assistant Coach on the Junior Matildas' South Korea tour.

Her background in development goes back even further. As Director of Football at Endeavour Sports High School, Debbie built the program from 10 boys in 1997 to 96 boys and girls by 2004, guiding both squads to NSW Combined High Schools titles and helping produce talent including Tomi Juric, Emma Davison and Teresa Polias along the way.

Debbie holds a Bachelor of Sports Science, a Graduate Diploma of Education, and has completed the Football Australia/AFC Pro Diploma, the FIFA Coach Developer Program and the AIS Elevate Lead Program, all in 2025.

In her new role, Debbie will lead the technical direction of our Girls JDL program, working alongside Tom Sermanni, Charlotte Young and the rest of the football department to build a genuine pathway for girls across the Shire.

Everyone at the Sharks is proud to welcome Debbie to the Club.
