Girls & Women's Football: Program Update

We want to keep our community up to date as we continue to build our Girls & Women's Football pathway for 2027. We understand that this is an anxious time for players and their families, but we also want to ensure we provide the highest quality program possible. Our focus is on getting this right and building the best program we can for Girls & Women's Football in the Sutherland Shire.

The first big step has been securing Tom Sermanni as our Strategic Director of Women's Football to help us build the best possible technical structure and coaching team. With Tom's guidance and expertise, we will be finalising our Girls & Women's key staff appointments over the next two weeks, with those staff heavily involved in selection decisions.

We've been blown away by the strong interest through our Expression of Interest process, and we are currently working through those EOIs for both players and coaches.

In parallel to this, we're also working through player and coach recommendations from the Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA). Player recommendations have been based on Individual Development Plans provided. It is important to note that while these recommendations have been made, they do not guarantee selection with the 2027 Sutherland Sharks program.
